A deputy legal counsel to the White House is found dead in Fort Marcy Park, and after an investigation marred with mistakes and inconsistencies, his death is finally ruled a suicide. Eight years later, a new president is determined to clean-up all his predecessor's "dirty laundry" by offering the mission to the newly promoted Lt. Col. Michael Correa, U.S. Army Special Forces. "Seeing as who could be implicated in Victor Fallon's death, I thought you'd jump at the chance" he tells Michael. Reluctantly accepting the covert mission, along with a small, handpicked team, the commander-in-chief reminds Michael that "the jungle's now concrete and the enemy wears suits" After reading the official report on Fallon's death, Michael's first stop is the former first lady, Harriet Pearson, who from the outset begins to plot with CIA deputy director, Charles Ashburn, on ways to rid themselves of Michael - permanently. The terrorist attacks on 9/11 interrupt the mission, but eleven months later, Michael resurfaces, more determined than ever to expose Harriet's illegal activities. The list of homicides quickly grows. With an undercover DEA agent now in the mix, a high seas kidnapping that involves the U.S. Coast Guard, and a narcotics detective from Miami P.D. the investigation gathers speed. When the 'Most Wanted' leader of a Colombian drug cartel is also implicated, Michael resorts to unleashing his Special Forces teammates, with the help of a Global Hawk UAV, in a high-risk takedown. All Michael and the team have to do, while connecting all the dots, is stay alive and prevent Michael's father, Francis, the returning director of the CIA, from learning too much. Will the former first lady get away with murder? The outcome is guaranteed to surprise you. This is the third book in the series, and the reader will again meet some familiar characters in Rowan Wolfe's well-researched and fast-paced thriller. www.rowanwolfe.com

MY REVIEW

This is the third book in the series, I got this book to review and went and read the first two books to keep everything straight in my head. This is a great book an edge of your seat political thriller.

It starts off with a bang as deputy legal counsel is found dead in the park. The investigation gets so muddled up with mistakes that the death is considered suicide. Well you all start thinking maybe it was but as you start piecing things together. But then it comes to eight years later and the new president wants to clean up all of the last president's screw ups. This is where we meet Michael Correa comes in, he is with special forces and other messes of the past president. Now this is where we get really good . The past president was mixed up with some drug cartels. There is so much intrigue going on you will stay on the edge of your seat as you read

This is the third book in the series and wow Rowan takes you on a very emotional ride. You are never at a loss of trying to figure out what is going on from one page to another. We travel all over and rarely stay in the same spot for more then three to four pages at a time. So you have to be on your toes as you read. This is a gritty realistic book. You can actually think that this could happen. You never know what is lurking in the back rooms of any political party.

The characters from the first book do make appearances in this book also . So you might want to read the first two books to help make sense of this third one .All Rowan's characters are strong realistic characters. You have the good guys and the not so good guys ,the you have the absolute evil men. And in this book they are very evil. You will scream at your e reader with this book.

Trust me you will not be disappointed in this book , if you like intriguing action packed political

thrillers, I will say you should get this whole series of books. Start at the beginning. This would be a great book for anyone who loves a great thriller. So give it a chance and I bet you wont be disappointed

REVIEW
I found the book to be very interesting, very realistic with the crooked politicians, terrorists and of course, the good guys trying to see justice done. The book is action filled which keeps you turning the pages to get to the answers. Just one little suggestion. If you really want to get into the book, I would suggest you read THE TRIAL OF EVAN GAGE and THE TYBEE INCIDENT first. It sets the story up. I didn't have the opportunity to read them first,so I had some problems keeping the characters straight, but I still found MURDER IN THE PARK to be an interesting, intriguing read. The book seems to be based on some very realistic situations and characters. As though the reader was looking back at some of the politicians today. What a comparison! I found the realism of the book is what keeps the pages turning. It's like you can relate to what is happening. As though you have heard similar things on the television, radio and other media. Quite a realistic book.

I was given a complimentary copy of MURDER IN THE PARK from the author, Rowan Wolfe for my view of the book. No other compensation took place.
Fast paced, lots of action, great characters, I couldn’t put it down. Rowan Wolfe cranks up the intrigue and keeps you reading until the very last page. A real page turner.
This book builds upon The Trial of Evan Gage and The Incident at Tybee Island wonderfully. Fast paced, not stop action. I couldn't put it down and devoured the whole book in a matter of hours. Great, great book.
Was given a paper back in exchange for an honest review..... I couldn't put this book down! I read the boom in a day and a half and if I didn't have to sleep would have only been a day! I can't wait to read the next book hopefully it doesn't take another 3 years to get it!
Michael Correa with Special Forces is called in by a new US President to investigate the murder of a deputy legal counsel, Victor Fallon, whose death, although suspicious, has been ruled a suicide. Meeting with the President, Michael is also given the task of cleaning up several loose ends left by the previous President who had ties to a drug cartel as well as several murders, and other nefarious dealings. Harriet Pearson, the former first lady, who is suspected to be involved in her late husband’s dirt, is working with men in Michael’s department to get rid of him permanently. Michael’s father, Francis, who is a former director of the CIA, returns to his post and works with (and sometimes against) Michael to expose what is happening.

Murder in the Park is the third in the series written by Rowan Wolfe, who is from England, but is now an American citizen. Her writing style is unique – each section has a heading telling the reader the time and place that the paragraph takes place; it makes the novel easy to read and makes it understandable since there are a fair amount of characters and it would be easy to get some of them mixed up. Her characters seem like real people that one can relate to. What is a little confusing is her obvious British style grammar as opposed to American grammar (i.e., “the team” in American grammar is singular and one would say “the team is,” and “the team” in British grammar is made of several people and is considered plural; one would say “the team are.”) while this takes some getting used to, it doesn’t take away from the excellent storyline. There is one blatant error throughout the novel, however, that needs editing every time (no less than 50 instances) the author uses the word “been,” it is printed as “bin.” There are also a couple of editing errors –extra words and wrong usage - that a professional editor would have caught; they are minor and don’t really take away from the story.

All told, this is a good novel. There are plenty of twists and turns, as well as danger for the main characters. Unfortunately, the really bad guy, while exposed, doesn’t get the punishment deserved in the end, which hopefully will come to pass in the next novel, but is typical of politics in general. Some of the characters are reminiscent of real American politicians, which emphasizes to readers the fact that there are few if any honest persons in American politics, there are workings in top political circles that are propagandizing the American people, and that some of the worst are still getting away with murder and other crimes. It adds a bit of fun to reading the novel to figure out which modern politicians might be the inspiration for each character. Hopefully this author has more in the works.

Special thanks to Rowan Wolfe for supplying a review copy of this book.
